how to find a roommate

for an easier rooming experience with peace-of-mind!

Emma™ takes the fear of the unknown out of finding a roommate. Wouldn't it be nice to know more about a potential roommate before agreeing to share a bathroom with him?

Emma makes that fast and easy by letting potential roommates share and view Facebook profile information. To start, you can either scan other postings or create your own.

1. Scan What's Out There

  • From the Scan screen, simply search for "roommate."
  • Like what you see? Get more information about it!
  • Nothing catching your eye? Time to make your own listing!

OR Make Your Own Post

  • Go to the "Real Estate and Lodging" category and then select the "Roommate/Housemate" subcategory.
  • Provide details for your listing like the rent, when the room will be available, and your ideal roommate. Add photos of your place!
  • Set the level of profile information you need to see from bidders. You control who sees your listing and exactly what you need from potential roommates.

Either way, you're on the path to finding the perfect roommate!

2. Find the Right Person

  • Find the right person by "trading" profile information with or viewing profile details for potential roommates.
  • Share more of your own profile information by using the "Send" button.
  • Ask for more details or information using the "Message" button.

3. Lock in on a great roommate!

  • Like what you see in an existing listing? Bid on it!
  • Like what you see in an existing bid? Accept it!
  • Now you have a closed contract with a great roommate!
